May

Been busy working in the garden over the past few days. Before you know it the first salad greens will be ready for the table. Can’t wait!

I have a lot of pleasant memories from the Armstrong ‘Live Life Well’ Show. There were so many nice people that stopped by our booth to say hi. Had a chance to talk “knitting” with a number of long-time knitters. I am sure we made quite an impression on the community with the display of our knitting artistry and generosity to local charities. Check out our new photo galleries.

Marge G, who is in England by now, volunteered to notify and deliver the blankets to the draw winners on the Sunday following the Show. She also took pictures of the winners with the blankets for us to place in the Photo Gallery on the website. Way to go, Marge.

Note: The owner of Never Ending Yarn Shop is being forced out of her present store with nowhere to relocate. She is willing to donate yarn to our Circle in return for a charitable tax receipt. Pat is investigating non-profit organizations who would be willing to do this on our behalf. So if you have any ideas of organizations that would like to assist us with our charitable cause, please let Pat know.

Pat is also storing lots of yarn and squares at her house for us. If you need yarn (or squares) please give her a call at 546-2465 to arrange a time to pickup what you need.

At our May 3rd meeting we learned three different ways to cast on. I’m not sure what each of the methods is called but each made a different type of edge. I really enjoy finding different ways of doing things.

A big thank you to Carole Bacon of Kamloops for sending us a large box of beautifully crafted squares. Welcome to the circle, Carole. We look forward to meeting you one day.

Mark your calendar so you won’t miss our summer meetings. We have decided to meet once a month during the busy Summer months. The dates are all Thursdays; June 14, July 12, August 2, and September 13. July 12th is slated for a Pot Luck. Stay tuned for more details.

Happy Knitting
