December

Merry Holidays Knitters,

Oh, boy, do I have the holiday spirit running through my veins. I am spending my days with teenagers who are vibrating with high degree of energy generated by the snow and the approaching days off. I am thoroughly amazed that they can stay seated at all.

Take time for yourself
When I need to relax I pull out my knitting. Right now I am working on a cable stitch hat made from a raspberry ripple mohair/wool/acrylic yarn. I hope to complete matching mitts and scarf during my two week Christmas holidays.

Tree Display
If you haven’t made it down to the Armstrong Community Christmas Display you have until the First Night celebration to view all the trees. Our tree full of knitted decorations, scarves, and hats will remain until that time. I’ve included a photo of all of us when we set up on December 2nd.

Santa comes in many forms
I stopped by Pat’s to give her a ride to our last circle in December. I fully expected her to have at least two or three bags of yarn and squares to put in the trunk as she kindly stores all of the yarn donations at her house. She made some excuse and we continued on down to the Chamber for our meeting. Shortly after we arrived Marge B walked in with one big bag. Then she returned from her car with a second and even a third garbage bag of yarn. What a surprise! Marge said the Gleaners were so enthralled with the colourful touks that we had donated that they even delivered the three bags full of yarn to her house. So we spent our meeting laughing, rewinding, and sorting the yarn. It was so much fun.

Stock up for the holidays
If you have a hankering to knit hats, scarves, or mitts or even a crib blanket give Pat a call to make arrangements to pick up yarn. We have almost every colour in lots of different weights of yarn. You can reach Pat at 546-2465.

Holiday Wish
May you have the merriest of holidays surrounded by your loved ones. May we all live “Good will towards men”.

See you in the New Year on Thursday, January 10th at the Chamber.
